The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I graduated from Penn State in 1954, BS Aero Engineering, and immediately went to work in the aerospace industry at North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio. This job was quickly interrupted by a 2-1/2-year USAF assignment teaching assembly and test of thermonuclear weapons. I returned to aerospace, working on supersonic carrier-based aircraft, air-launched tactical missiles, and a year on the Apollo program in California. I finally escaped the uncertainties of aerospace after 16 years and enjoyed a second 30-year career with an underground coal mining machinery company in Columbus, serving as project manager on several machine developments and finally as Director of International Sales traveling to all corners of the world. I was divorced from my high school classmate Gloria Fuhrman in 1973 (3 daughters, 4 grandchildren still in Columbus) and then remarried. My second wife Dee (1 daughter, adopted, now married and living in Australia) died of cancer in 1994. I married again, this time to Lisa Petruzzi, Penn State '81 grad., and am now very happy and deeply involved at our St. Joseph Parish, working with the Knights of Columbus, parish school of religion, Eucharistic minister, lector, choir, and preparing engaged couples for their Catholic wedding. God has been very generous with me.
